This speech is equal parts genius and inspiration and not just because it so conveniently homages Steve Jobs infamous Stanford commencement speech – referencing the role he plays in the upcoming biopic, no doubt – or not even only because he is giving the best advice EVER to the young people who are so used to the staunchly opposite messaging reality TV, teen magazines, and gaming consoles riddle them. But because his words resonates to both you and me. You know, “grown ups.” Like a gong gonged at the conclusion of yoga classes around the world, his words vibrate into ones core and reminds you of what the truth feels really feels like. Video below.
1. Opportunity looks a lot like hard work. His sentiment is strikingly similar to another famous mans quote, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like hard work.” – Thomas A. Edison
2. The sexiest thing in the entire world is being REALLY smart, thoughtful, and generous. What “they” try to sell you is CRAP to make you feel “less.” So, don’t buy it.
3. Life is what you make of it. Really. Everything around us that we call “life” is a lie that was made up by people no smarter than you. But you can build your own life that other people can live in. So build one.
